This is a collection agency who pretends they are affiliated with Lawyers and will threaten to bring you to court for debt thet bought. Don't aggree with them and there terms. Work with them, but do not go with the first offer. They paid way less fro your debt then they want you to pay. Good luck!!!
My mother has been dead for 11 years and got this voicemail today (5/14/2014). I keep the phone number active because my relatives call me on it. The call for a Ryan and my mother's first name was not Ryan and I'm Charles. THIS IS A BIG SCAM ..... DO NOT FALL FOR IT ...... Urgent message Emile robins calling for Mr. Ryan [my dead mother' last name]. I was calling because a client sent a pre-legal file over to my office. I wanted to touch bases with you before a decision was made. I will be in the this evening until 6:00. 770-234-0101 extension in my office is 2187 in Atlanta. Again this is an urgent call from NRC in Atlanta for Mr. Ryan [my dead mother's last name]. 7770-234-0101 ex 2187 Thanks you I am a debt collector this has been an attempt to collect a debt.
I want to report this collection agency that keeps calling me. They eat up the minutes on my pre-paid cell phone! I have the same last name as other people in this area and NO debt that needs to be collected or settled. I've told them this before and still they continue to call me. What should I do. I'm on a "no calling list!"
The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A debt collector is not a sales person and is therefore not covered. (The few remaining state no-call lists work the same way.) Here are the DNC service terms you were supposed to review at registration time:
Mistrust of any ''wrong number'' claim is standard procedure at all the rogue collection agencies. They assume you are a liar until you give an answer which gets one paid. Calling all soundalikes and "nearbys" of alleged debtors is also part of the playbook, sometimes done to deliberately shame and annoy the intended target.
Tell them you are NOT the person then save their number in your phone. They will try & trick you so when they call again within a month, tell them you aren't that person & tell them you have only had phone for about a month. The will stop.. trust me:)
PS. They are trying to collect on a debt from over 7 years ago & isn't showing on my credit report & trying to threaten them doesn't work.....They continue to call...
In other words, your stupid "new phone" lie doesn't work. Don't you think dedicated skip tracers have heard every dodge twice? Let's try a real solution ...
You have a right to limit or ban all phone contact as an alleged debtor. You get this done *once* on paper, via Certified Mail. You don't goof around month after month. If your orders are ignored, you sue the offender.
Credit reporting, or lack of it, of a given debt does not affect your liability for that debt. You have a right to dispute a debt claim and, if done timely after your first dunning letter, a right to demand validation. Again, use paper and Cert Mail. Evidently you did none of the above. NRC knows you're not serious, which is why "trying to threaten them doesn't work".
they call me again and again i block there number like 5 numbers and they kept changing number to call me.they said they will let the court release my account and tell me they will put lien on my house.they also want me to pay them by check and debit card only plus in lum sum no payment.they made a deal they said i owe $12000 than they reduce to $8000 and than to $5000 ,they waited for my response i didn't get back to them so they called me again last week that they will let the court release my file and put lien on my house and i don't see nothing on my credit report that i owe them money.i saw few stuff i i owe but not from the company they told me i owe.
So frustrating. My husband's name differs only by the middle initial from some deadbeat's. We thought that we had finally resolved this. Now, it seems that some unsuspecting collection agency in Georgia (where this # originates) has been duped into thinking that they will collect money from us! How unfortunate for all concerned. Meanwhile, the real deadbeat has escaped detection.
NRC was not "unsuspecting" and it wasn't "duped". It simply does not care about facts, only money. You don't know that the alleged debtor is a "real deadbeat". NRC and its kind chase junk debt which they cannot or will not prove valid. Maybe the debt account was already paid, or should never have existed.
It's also likely the hunted person has not "escaped detection" like some fugitive. Many scofflaw agencies enjoy calling everyone *but* the alleged debtor, pretending the person cannot be found.
Same applies. this same company called me about a month ago with some threatening voice message. I had already told them (HIM) I was not the person they were looking for.. they they tried to ask for whomever they were looking for by a variety of DIFFERENT last names even!
This person called my phone yesterday for someone other than myself. I told him it was not that person's no. He wanted to know the phone no of the other person. He told me he was provided my no by the other person. I am sure that is not true. I have blocked his no. He was not pleasant.
Nations Recovery Center is another bunch of scofflaw bullies in Atlanta. A consistent pattern of complaints and lawsuits against the agency shows that illegal bullying has been a routine business practice. Just over five years ago, one of its collector trainers was busted for impersonating a local county police officer in full uniform. His fake badge or patch read "NRC Unit / POLICE / Sgt. Detective". When the real police found him, he wasn't on his way to a costume ball.
Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment. If you get neither, the collection agency should *not* win your assets. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.
Spoke with someone from this agency. Am in the process of a divorce and all bills are in arbitration. Since I would not make a payment they are listing me as refusing to pay. Gave all the info to my attorney. Since then I have received 4 calls - in less than 24 hours. Number is now blocked.
It's called Nations Recovery. It is a collection agency. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. The particular debt I owe is being handled by a credit counseling agency. They are still trying to recover the debt on their own to get more money.
